Our Statement of Purpose

Koinonia Afresh is a Christ-centered, non-profit ministry devoted to restoring, equipping & encouraging relationships, renewing fellowship with God and others.

In a post-Christian culture, Godly relationships are under greater attack than ever before.
Broken homes and divided relationships have touched nearly every life in some way. In the busyness and self-focus of modern life, many of us have allowed distance to grow in our relationship with God—and that distance ripples outward into our human relationships.

Koinonia Afresh was born out of this deep need.
Our mission is to be the hands and feet of Jesus on the Central Coast of California—creating space for restoration, renewal, encouragement, healing, joy, and hope. God longs for a passionate relationship with each of us. From that place of intimacy with Him, He empowers us to build relationships marked by forgiveness, grace, and love—relationships that reflect His unity and peace.

Romans 12: 10

Be devoted to one another in love.  Honor one another above yourselves.

We love because He first loved us.  Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar.  For however does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.  And He has given us this command:  Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

Luke 1: 17

And he will go on before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous-to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

I Corinthians 13: 4-8a

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Colossians 3:   8-10

But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.  Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.


Colossians 3: 18-21

Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.

  2. Volunteer:  We need your help with event planning, and staffing.
  3. Give:  We are a 501c3 non-profit ministry.  Your donations are tax deductible and help us sustain and grow. 
  4. Spread the word:  We exist to help others.  If you or someone you know is in need of Koinonia Afresh please invite them to our next event.

  • Sponsors events such as conferences, (marriage, parenting, youth, etc.) concerts, comedians, seminars.
  • Helps provide resources for continued local support in your relationships.
  • Helps financially support other ministries as God leads.
  • Provides a tax deductible platform for missionaries through which others can financially support them.
